Atlanta Food Blogger Goes National, Creates NonProfit Supporting Orphanages in India

We talked this week with Malika Bowling, a Atlanta-based author and food blogger ( , who talked with me in a podcast about her experiences in food blogging. Malika has written several books including the “Food Lovers Guide to Atlanta” and “Food Blogging 101.”Malika Bacon

We also talked about her efforts to create a national Association of Food Bloggers ( She’s been working hard with hundreds of food bloggers around the country to create standards for the industry.

She’s also created a nonprofit foundation, the Mardai Harricharan Foundation, which helps support and grow orphanages where there is dire need ( The Foundation is based in Atlanta, but works with locals in India and other countries to help build orphanages and ensure that the children left without parents are safe and given food, shelter and schooling. They also partner with companies to provide the much needed supplies these various orphanages require.
